  1. What if you could go from a research paper to working code? Research Finder is my first step toward Research2Code.
  2. Finding relevant papers and understanding their key ideas can take hours. Pulling out methods, findings and limitations by hand takes even longer. I wanted AI to make that simpler.
  3. Research Finder searches academic papers through OpenAlex and lets you pick one to explore. It retrieves the paper's abstract and available text, then uses Gemma 4, running locally through Ollama, to answer questions in plain language. Ask "What is this paper about?" or "What are its main limitations?" and keep digging.
  4. I built it in Python with OpenAlex, Ollama and Gemma 4. I used ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot for coding help and debugging.
  5. Today, Research Finder handles discovery and question answering. Next, I want to extend it toward research-guided code generation and experiment planning.
